Gabby Barrett has shared a cover of Dolly Parton’s classic “I Will Always Love You” for Amazon Music, and as part of the promotion she got to chat with Dolly, who offered Gabby, who’s been married to Cade Foehner for almost a year, some marital advice.
"My husband and I always had a great friendship," Dolly says, referring to her 54-year-marriage to Carl Dean. "We're both funny, and we both have a great and warped sense of humor so we've always had a good time.”
She notes that she and Carl don’t involve themselves in each other’s business, which also helps. “I've always made jokes that the reason our marriage has lasted so long is because I stay gone," she noted. "Well, there's a lot of truth in that. We're not in each other's face all the time.” She explains, “I think there's a lot to be said about having some sensible separation because you can't be with somebody 24/7, 365 and not want to smack their face now and then."
